“VOTING WITH A CHRISTIAN WORLD VIEW”

The 2016 election was one of the most contentious in American history. So much, it seemed, was on the line. The polarization of American life was on full display. The campaign between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump fed on the anger, division, and latent racism that has plagued our country for decades. One candidate promised to bring a renewed respect for Christian values in policies, if not in his personal life. Christians felt at a crossroads. Disappointed by the failed promises of government. Disenfranchised and insulted, they took their anger to the streets. In the midst of these social upheavals, many Christians asked, “How do I vote as a Christian?” This sermon seeks to weed through the vitriolic national rhetoric to establish a few biblical principles that should be foundational to any voting Christian.
